NEO-STEM™ is biocompatible silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles containing an organic fluorescence dye within a silica shell. NEO-STEM™ have dual functions of fluorescence and magnetic. Hence, it is capable of being detected both by fluorescence spectroscopy and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

Scheme of biocompatible silanol terminated NEO-STEM™
The TEM image of NEO-STEMTM (~ 50 nm) confirmed core-shell structure. As the silica shell is composed of silanol (Si-OH) groups, NEO-STEMTM can be dissolved in wide pH range aqueous solution. Also the NEO-STEMTM is very soluble (stable) in various commercial buffer solutions such as DMEM, PBS, TE, HEPES, etc.
NEO-STEMTM can be conjugated with various biomolecules such as PEG, NH2, COOH or a group of your choice. NEO-STEMTM can be applied for binding proteins, DNA and other molecules.
